Ffion Hayward
Nourish Hub Manager
Ffion has always had an interest in food, science, and health, grown from hours spent in the kitchen with her family. Ffion went onto obtain a Nutritional Sciences degree and is now a Registered Associate Nutritionist. She has worked in Public Health for over nine years and is passionate about educating people on nutrition and cookery skills. Through our education projects Ffion loves to help people improve their wellbeing through their dietary habits whilst also being mindful of sustainability and food waste.
Andreea Rizea
Deputy Hub Manager
Andreea has worked in Health and Social care for over 17 years in a variety of roles and as a native Romanian speaker, she holds many unique and beneficial skills. Confident in managing contracts and ensuring seamless service provisions, she has a keen eye for detail. Andreea joined the team in November 2021 as our Volunteer Coordinator, and loves working in a team that is so dedicated to nourishing and educating the nation. As well as creating exciting volunteering opportunities, she is also a present member in the community assisting in various education projects. Andreea loves spending time with her family, baking, travelling, and reading.
Helen Fielding
Education and events coordinator
Helen has worked and volunteered within the food charity and public sector for 5 years – committed to combating food insecurity and improving the public’s food literacy and nutrition education. She has obtained both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Nutritional Science (BSc Hons) and Global Health (MSc Hons) and is a registered associate nutritionist on the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists (UKVRN). Helen loves learning and sharing recipes which is perfect for her role at the Nourish Hub within the Food Education team! Outside of the kitchen, Helen is an amateur ceramicist, and enjoys board games and quizzes!
Amy
Partnerships coordinator
Having volunteered for environmental organisations for the past five years, Amy first came to be interested in sustainable food systems through an interest in community food growing. With a background in literature, Amy firmly believes in storytelling for social impact and the way a compelling narrative can help shift traditional mindsets and support meaningful change. At Nourish Hub, Amy coordinates the Hammersmith and Fulham Food For All Partnership and works collaboratively with other local public, private and third sector organisations to help create a more resilient and accessible food system throughout the borough. When not at the Hub, Amy can be found at their local community garden learning about the joy of compost and social connection!
Decibel
Front of house supervisor
With an interest in the journey of food, from seed to soil to plate, Decibel, has experience in horticultural outdoor learning facilitation as well as cooking and curating themed supper clubs. These areas of work have allowed Decibel to remain engaged in the fields of plants, food and community which she believes are amazing aspects on their own but together remind us of our interconnected relationship with nature/the outdoor world and each other. Dedicated to learning how to cultivate and forage the abundance that nature has to offer us through edible plants and how to use those food items to bring us together as people.
Jamela
Front of House Supervisor
Born in London but brought up in Mauritius – a tiny island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, Jamela enjoys spending time outdoors, by the beach, and loves baking. The passion for baking was passed down to her from her father, who owned a bakery in Mauritius. Jamela loves being part of the community, she is passionate about connecting to people and ideas, supporting others to enrich their lives and so she first reached out and engaged with us as a volunteer. Jamela is in her final year of the Diploma in Patisserie and Confectionery and she uses cakes to express her creativity and as a great form of art and therapy. Jamela loves engaging with various community groups and being trilingual and aware of how to use sign language ensure effective communication.
Oli Way
Head Chef
Oli originally started as a volunteer at UKHarvest in early 2021, and through his hard work and determination, became a chef at the UKHarvest training kitchen in Donnington. He has since then, continued onwards and upwards and is now the Head Chef at the Nourish Hub feeding the community with rescued food. From previously having some extra time volunteering and doing sessional work Oli has found a profound love for travel.Â
Angus
Assistant Chef
Angus believes cooking is a way of telling a story about human histories, our relationships to each other and to the environment. With the right relationships to the land, to the seasons and to local food producers, food can be joyful, celebratory, and delicious as well as every day, nourishing and sustainable. He has joined the Nourish Hub kitchen team in Feb 2024 and is passionate about working somewhere that is bringing this vision to everyday life in the UK: a country where mainstream food culture and has suffered from the effects of mass production, food insecurity and a cost-of-living crisis. He feels that the Nourish Hub would be a great next step for him as a chef: bringing him closer to his goal of working at the community level, serving food that is accessible, healthy, cheap, and sustainable.
Jason Lowe
Meals On Wheels Manager
In 2021, Jason joined the Hub bringing with him a 20 year customer focused background ranging from digital start-ups to film production. He currently manages our meals on wheels program, planning the routes to deliver our tasty food to those who are housebound.Â
With his incredible encyclopedic knowledge of bicycles Jason loves going on exciting bike packing adventures. Jason has said that working with UKHarvest is without doubt the most rewarding place he has ever worked.Â
Tripti
Meals on Wheels Chef
Tripti is a Michelin-trained chef, consultant chef and recipe developer. After 25 years of experience in the industry, she really wanted to serve her community and create value in people’s lives. She is passionate about sharing her skills and knowledge to show everyone that cooking fresh food every day is not as difficult as people think. Tripti believes in a holistic and conscious approach to cooking and eating.
